About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the store was almost empty, a regular noticed that the lights in aisle seven flickered like they had a mind of their own. His little granddaughter, who tagged along on grocery trips, kept pointing and whispering, ‘Grandpa, look! The carrots are dancing!’ Curious, Grandpa followed his granddaughter’s gaze until he saw them too—a row of beets seemed to be gently bobbing up and down. Just then, an exhausted delivery driver walked by, muttering under his breath, ‘I told them not to put those organic spinach bags next to the beets.’ The old man laughed and said, ‘Next time, maybe they’ll teach vegetables some dance moves!’
2. In the early morning hours, before the sun had fully risen, a delivery driver pulled up to the loading dock of La Cienega Super Food. As he unloaded crates of fresh produce, he spied something odd in one of them—a small cardboard box wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. As he opened it curiously, he found inside a note scribbled in childish handwriting: ‘Please keep these bananas for me.’ Below was a tiny banana sticker with a smiley face drawn on it. Turns out, someone’s kid had accidentally packed their own fruit snack and left it behind.
3. At midnight, as the last cashier locked up, an old lady whispered to herself, ‘I’ll just grab one more thing.’ And ever since then, some say you can hear her humming softly in aisle seven every Thursday night. One Thursday evening, a delivery driver passing by heard the familiar tune and decided to investigate. To his surprise, it was just an enthusiastic neighborhood cat, singing along while chasing laser pointers down the aisles. Everyone now knows that La Cienega’s late-night symphony is just the local feline orchestra rehearsing for their weekly concert.
4. One day, after closing time, a lone shopper heard a voice over the store’s intercom: ‘Please return your shopping cart to the front entrance—it belongs to someone who is very tall.’ Curious, the person went outside and found an enormous shopping cart, clearly marked with a note: ‘Took it for a spin—see you later!’ Inside was a friendly smiley face drawn on the handle. The next morning, everyone in town received a handwritten flyer from La Cienega Super Food: “We’ve got groceries big enough for anyone—even giants!”
