About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular asked the baker, ‘Why do you always greet the delivery drivers with such warmth?’ The baker replied, ‘They’re not just drivers—they’re our secret recipe keepers!’ A few days later, an excited neighbor approached the baker and whispered, ‘I saw one of them leaving last night—carrying something under his coat!’ The baker laughed heartily, shaking his head. ‘Don’t worry,’ he said, ‘he was probably just taking home some extra butter for his family.’
2. One day, a delivery driver stopped mid-step as he approached the bakery door. ‘Wait,’ he said aloud, ‘I’m pretty sure I heard that bell ringing before.’ He looked around nervously, then reached for his walkie-talkie and whispered into it: ‘Central Control, this is Delivery Driver 7. Do you read?’ A voice crackled back: ‘This is not a movie, dude—there’s no bell.’ The driver scratched his head and walked in, only to be greeted by a warm smile from an old lady who said, “Welcome to La Central Bakery, honey. We’ve been waiting for you.”
3. One morning, a regular shouted across the street: ‘Hey, baker! Why does your oven sound like it’s counting in Spanish?’ The baker smiled and replied, 'Oh, that's my new oven. It was built by an old master who programmed it to sing traditional Spanish songs during baking.' A delivery driver laughed and asked, 'Does it sing different songs for each kind of bread?' The baker shrugged, 'Who knows? Maybe one day it will break into a flamenco dance!'
4. A regular walked into La Central Bakery one afternoon and noticed something peculiar: every time he entered through the front door, the clock on the wall seemed to slow down for him alone. Finally curious, our regular asked the baker what was going on. The baker smiled and said, ‘That’s just our special time-warping dough, sir—keeps customers coming back for more!’ And so, everyone in town started visiting La Central Bakery twice a day, once for breakfast and again for an extra-long lunch break.
