About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn one foggy morning, a delivery driver pulled up to La Baguette Bakery and called out, 'Hey, anyone seen my donut?' Inside, an old baker appeared from behind the counter, rubbing his eyes. ‘Donuts? We only sell bread here,’ he grumbled. The delivery driver sheepishly pointed upwards, and sure enough, hanging above the door was a giant sign reading “Baguettes Only.” A neighbor passing by laughed and said, “Welcome to La Baguette Bakery—where even the donuts are French!”
2. A regular customer, sipping coffee and reading the paper, suddenly exclaimed: ‘I swear, every morning that old baker waves at me from exactly the same spot!’ The other patrons glanced around curiously, but there was no one. Just then, a delivery driver walked in, carrying a huge box. He nodded knowingly towards the window and whispered, 'Yep, he does it every time I come too.' The regular looked perplexed until another patron leaned over and stage-whispered, 'He’s waving at his reflection in the glass!' Everyone burst out laughing, realizing they’d been fooled by an old mirror trick.
3. At closing time, an elderly gentleman approached the counter and asked for the day's last croissant. The baker smiled and replied, 'Just one more minute, sir.' Suddenly, over the speakers, came a voice: 'And remember, always take your time with La Baguette—life is best enjoyed in small bites!' A few minutes later, the old gentleman emerged from behind the counter, holding a steaming hot croissant. He nodded towards the door and said, ‘Thank you, my friend… life’s little pleasures are worth waiting for.’ Just then, a delivery driver rushed in, panting, “I’m late again!” The baker grinned and whispered, ‘Another bite of heaven for you, too!’
4. A small boy, trailing his mother into La Baguette Bakery, stopped abruptly, pointing excitedly. "Mama, look! The bread is dancing!" His mother glanced down, only to see loaves gently swaying in their display case as if to music no one else could hear. The baker, a gruff old man with a bushy mustache, looked up from his work and scowled at the bread. 'Just my bad batch,' he muttered under his breath. A delivery driver passing by overheard him and laughed out loud, causing the bread to start wobbling even more. 'Maybe it's not just your batch,' the driver teased, 'maybe it's the whole bakery!'
