About this location

A few stories people tell about this place

1. At dawn, when most gas stations are empty, an old man in a tweed jacket would appear at the BP pump. He’d fill up his tank with a smile, then disappear without paying. One morning, a delivery driver noticed the old man and asked him why he never paid. The old man just winked and said, ‘Son, I own half of this station.’ They both laughed, and from that day on, the driver always left a few extra dollars in the till for his mysterious friend.

2. One morning, while a little boy was waiting for his dad's car to fill up with gas, he noticed something strange—an old dog kept circling around the BP pump, sniffing and growling softly. The boy asked his father, ‘Why is that dog so mad at the gas station?’ His dad shrugged and said, 'Oh, that's just Old Blue—he doesn't like strangers near his favorite spot.' Just then, an older gentleman walked out of the store, scratching behind Old Blue’s ear and smiling warmly. 'Morning, Mr. Jenkins,' called the boy's dad. 'Morning, John,' replied Mr. Jenkins, patting the dog affectionately. 'Old Blue knows everyone here!'

3. One day, while a curious dog was sniffing around the BP station, he suddenly froze and stared into the reflection of the glass door. Inside, a shadowy figure seemed to be filling up a car that wasn’t there. The dog barked excitedly, attracting the attention of an old delivery driver who chuckled and said, ‘Just another ghost sightin’ at the ol’ BP.’ He shook his head and went back to loading his truck, leaving the canine mystery-solver to ponder if maybe it was just a trick of the light.

4. At closing time, when the last customer had left, a delivery driver noticed something odd: the neon sign above the BP station seemed to flicker on its own. Curious, he approached and saw nothing but the usual glowing letters. But then, out of nowhere, an old man in a tweed jacket appeared, smiling warmly. ‘Ah,’ said the ghostly figure, ‘you’ve finally noticed my little trick.’ Turns out it was just the owner’s prank to attract more customers during slow nights.
