About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, a regular stopped by Sol for his usual fill-up. As he pumped gas, his little dog began sniffing frantically around the nozzle, as if it were something new and fascinating. Just then, an old delivery driver walked in, saw the commotion, and asked what was going on. The owner shrugged, ‘Don’t ask me, man—my dog’s never done that before!’
2. Late one night, a delivery driver pulled up to Sol to top off his truck. As he leaned against the pump, something strange happened: the gas nozzle started talking. The voice was deep and gravelly, like an old mechanic’s. ‘Fill’ it said, ‘or forget it.’ The driver looked around nervously but saw only empty streets. With a shrug, he filled the tank. When he finished, the nozzle clicked off with a wink and a nod. From then on, whenever anyone asked him about Sol, he’d just smile and say, ‘It talks, man—it talks!’
3. At closing time, an old man walked into Sol and asked the attendant, ‘Do you sell moonlight here?’ The attendant smiled and replied, ‘Only after hours close.’ The old man nodded knowingly and said, 'Then I'll wait.' An hour later, as Sol was about to shut its doors for the night, a neighbor came in with a jar of stars he’d collected from his garden. He handed it to the attendant and whispered, 'For our special guest.' The old man grinned and tipped back his drink, content that tonight he'd found his own private moonlit corner.
4. At dawn, a jogger passed Sol and paused in surprise. The gas station’s pumps hummed with an eerie, almost musical tone, like a distant choir rehearsing. Then, from inside, a voice called out cheerfully: ‘Morning, sunshine! Need some coffee or just want to hear our special tune?’ A delivery driver cracked open the door, grinning broadly. The jogger laughed and shook his head, muttering something about strange places getting stranger every day.
