About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an excited delivery driver exclaimed to no one in particular: ‘I just saw Mr. Gilpin talking to a ghost!’ The office erupted into laughter, but later that day, another employee claimed they heard footsteps on the empty floor above. Soon enough, everyone in the office was convinced that Mr. Gilpin had some secret dealings with the supernatural. Then one afternoon, a new intern walked in and asked nervously, 'Did I hear footsteps?' A colleague laughed and replied, 'No, that's just your head trying to catch up with your feet!'
2. At dawn, when most houses were still asleep, a delivery driver pulled up outside D Gilpin Properties. He jumped out of his truck and yelled, ‘I’ve got a package for someone named “Future Owner”!’ The delivery driver looked around nervously but saw no one. Inside the office, a light flickered on. An old man in a tweed suit emerged from behind an antique desk, rubbing his eyes. 'Finally!' he muttered, taking the package. The sun rose, revealing the man was just D Gilpin himself, who had been working late into the night as usual.
3. At dusk, a little girl pointed excitedly out her window and whispered to her toy poodle, ‘Look, Sparkles—there’s someone selling stars!’ Her parents looked puzzled as they watched an estate agent standing on their lawn, holding a small jar filled with twinkling lights. As it turned out, D Gilpin Properties had accidentally ordered too many Christmas lights for their office party. The little girl’s family kindly allowed them to unload the extras in their front yard, creating quite a spectacle. When asked why he was selling stars, the estate agent simply smiled and said, 'Well, you know how it is—when you’ve got too many stars, you might as well share them!'
4. At closing time, an elderly gentleman approached the realtor’s desk with a puzzled expression. ‘Excuse me,’ he asked, ‘why does every new client who comes through here suddenly start humming “My Heart Will Go On”?’ The realtor smiled and replied, 'Ah, well sir, it's because our office used to be a recording studio for old musicals. The song was recorded here many years ago.' The old man nodded thoughtfully before leaving, whistling a few bars of 'My Heart Will Go On' himself.
