About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One day, a regular asked the cashier, ‘Why does Publix always run out of bananas right when I need them most?’ The cashier smiled and whispered, ‘Because our supplier is also a big fan of banana splits!’ The regular laughed and shook his head, realizing that sometimes life in Publix is just as unpredictable—and delightfully absurd—as any urban legend.
2. One morning, a customer exclaimed to the manager, 'Why is it that every week I see the same delivery truck parked outside Publix, but never any new products on the shelves?' The manager smiled and replied, ‘That’s because our delivery driver is also our resident wizard of stocking. He knows exactly where everything belongs!’ The next day, indeed, all the new products magically appeared on the shelves.
3. A delivery driver was unloading groceries one afternoon when he noticed something peculiar. Every time he placed a crate on the ground near the dairy section, it would inexplicably move several feet away before coming to rest. Confused and amused, the driver called over a nearby shopper for help. Together they watched as each crate seemed to take a little detour towards the cheese aisle. Finally, an older gentleman passing by chuckled and said, 'Ah, that’s just old Publix trying to get you to sample some of their famous cheeses!'
4. One night, as customers were leaving after closing time, they heard an announcement over the PA system: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, please be advised that our store will now close for the next twenty-four hours… permanently.’ The next morning, when employees arrived, they found the doors unlocked—and a note on the manager’s desk: 'Dear Publix Team, I hope you had a great break! See you tomorrow.' Turns out, it was just a prank from a regular who loved the place so much he wanted everyone to take a day off together. Everyone laughed, grabbed their coffee, and went home early.
