About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when Heron Foods usually buzzed with activity, an old man in a tattered hat pushed a shopping cart filled with empty jars and cans. No one paid much attention until he started exchanging whispered words with the morning dew on the pavement. As he finished his mysterious conversation, the old man smiled mysteriously and placed a single coin under one of the empty cans. Just then, a delivery driver walked by and noticed something shiny. ‘Hey,’ he said, bending down curiously. The old man winked and replied, “Just checking if it’s still here.” They both laughed, and life at Heron Foods went back to normal—except now everyone wondered what exactly was left behind.
2. In the early morning, while Heron Foods’ shelves were stocked and quiet, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar. A small dog, its fur tousled, kept circling around the produce section, sniffing at the apples with intense curiosity. Curious, he followed it to the back of the store where an old crate lay open. Inside, another dozen dogs were nosing through bananas and oranges, clearly having made themselves at home. The delivery driver grinned, thinking, ‘Who knew our little neighborhood grocery had such a secret canine staff?’
3. At midnight, when Heron Foods' fluorescent lights cast eerie shadows across empty aisles, a mysterious voice crackled over the intercom: 'Attention shoppers—we’re out of everything except for one last can of spinach.' A delivery driver, hearing the message, shrugged and said to himself, ‘Well, I guess everyone’s getting their spinach fix tonight!’ As he drove away, a neighbor passing by muttered, ‘Typical Heron Foods—always out of everything but spinach.’
4. In the middle of the night, when Heron Foods’ freezers hummed quietly, a neighbor asked aloud: ‘Who’s stealing all those bananas?’ A delivery driver, half-asleep, kept hearing rustling noises in the early hours. Turned out, he was just rearranging boxes of bananas for the morning stock. The next day, everyone laughed when they saw his banana-shaped shadow on the warehouse wall.
