About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver was unloading boxes late one night when he noticed an old man standing in the hallway of Oakmans Estate Agents. The man kept repeating, ‘I’ve been waiting here for ages,’ but no one else seemed to notice him. The driver shrugged and said, 'Mate, maybe you should try the pub down the road.' The old man nodded gratefully and shuffled off. A few minutes later, a neighbour passing by remarked, 'That’s Mr. Jenkins from next door—always popping over after his shift at the agency.'
2. A little girl, holding her teddy bear tightly, pointed excitedly towards the empty office building across the street. ‘Mummy,’ she whispered, ‘look at those strange lights!’ Her mother smiled and knelt down, gently taking the bear from her daughter’s arms. ‘Honey, that’s just Mr. Oakman’s office,’ she said softly. The little girl looked puzzled for a moment before giggling and hugging her mum tighter. ‘But Mummy, he never comes out!’
3. One morning, a neighbor knocked on the door of Oakmans Estate Agents and asked: ‘Why does your sign keep changing directions?’ The agent smiled and replied, 'Oh, that's because our sign is actually attached to a small tree in front.' The neighbor nodded, then added with a twinkle in his eye, 'I thought maybe it was some sort of mysterious signal from beyond!'
4. One foggy afternoon, an estate agent's assistant was tidying up the office when she heard a voice over the intercom: ‘Please return Mr. Smith’s house key immediately—it was never lent out.’ She froze for a moment before realizing that no one had borrowed it recently. Just as she was about to dismiss the message, another voice added: 'And while you're at it, could you please send Mr. Brown's cat back too?' She laughed aloud—apparently, someone thought it would be fun to play a trick on her. The rest of the day turned into a game of finding imaginary tenants and pets, leaving her with a smile on her face.
