1. At night, when the gas station attendant left for the day, a little boy would appear from nowhere. He’d run into the Esso store, grab a flashlight, and dash outside. The employees never saw him come in or out, but every morning they found the door ajar. One night, an elderly delivery driver arrived late. Seeing the ajar door, he decided to investigate. Inside, he found the little boy sound asleep on a pile of boxes, his flashlight still clutched tightly. ‘Son,’ said the man gently, ‘you’ve been running around here for years now.’ The boy yawned and replied, ‘I know, Grandpa. I just like playing hide-and-seek with you guys.'

2. At closing time, an old sign flipped over on its own, pointing not to the restroom but to the exit door. ‘Employees only,’ it read, with a mischievous smile. One night, a delivery driver asked curiously why the sign always pointed out when he was supposed to stay in. With a wink, the sign replied, 'Because I know where your truck is parked!' Everyone laughed, and from then on, the sign became part of Esso's charm.

3. At dusk, a delivery driver pulled up to Esso and asked the cashier, ‘Why does it smell like popcorn here?’ The cashier shrugged, but ever since then, every evening around sunset, someone could swear they caught whiffs of fresh popcorn wafting from inside. Curious, an old neighbor stopped in one night and asked if they were cooking popcorn. The cashier shook their head, but the next morning, everyone found kernels scattered across the parking lot. To this day, no one knows whose idea it was to plant poppy seeds outside Esso—except maybe the delivery drivers who keep bringing in those mysterious bags.

4. At midnight, a sleepy neighbor muttered, 'I swear I just saw someone filling their tank with moonbeams!' The next morning, an old delivery driver shook his head and said, ‘Must’ve been those new LED lights playing tricks again.’ And as the sun rose, everyone forgot about it—except for one curious kid who kept asking if Esso sold starlight now too.
