About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver pulled up outside Dixons one morning, his truck groaning under the weight of furniture. As he stepped out, he noticed an old man peering through the window, pointing and whispering something into his pocket. The driver shrugged it off, thinking maybe the old guy was just hallucinating. Later that day, as he left the office, a neighbor called him over, pointing to a moving van with ‘DIXONS’ emblazoned on its side—empty and parked right next to the realtor’s office. The driver laughed, realizing the old man had been trying to tell him the place was already sold.
2. A little girl stood wide-eyed in front of Dixons one afternoon, pointing excitedly as her mother tried to explain why the man inside was talking to an empty chair. All of a sudden, the man turned around and smiled warmly at the little girl. ‘Don’t worry,’ he said gently, ‘I’m just chatting with Mr. Property, our resident estate agent spirit.’ The mother sighed, shaking her head fondly. ‘See?’ she whispered. ‘He’s talking to himself again.’
3. Why did that old lady keep stopping her car in front of Dixons every Tuesday? Nobody knew for sure, but everyone agreed it must be something important. One Tuesday morning, a delivery driver noticed an envelope taped to the door. Curious, he picked it up—only to discover it was filled with old photos and letters. Turned out, our mystery lady was reliving her youth through Dixons’ windows each week, revisiting memories she thought she'd forgotten.
4. A salesman entered Dixons one morning, only to discover that all the listings had mysteriously changed to 'For Sale' signs—except for his own. The salesman was perplexed but decided to play along. As he walked around showing ‘for sale’ properties, a regular customer asked him if his house was also up for grabs. With a straight face, he replied, ‘Not yet, sir—it’s still “for rent”!’ Everyone burst out laughing, and soon the whole office was enjoying the joke. The next day everything went back to normal.
