About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Chevron, a regular shouted one morning, ‘I think my car’s talking to me!’ The attendant raised an eyebrow and asked how that could be. The man replied, ‘It keeps saying “Fill me up with hope”!’ The attendant smiled and shook his head. A delivery driver overheard and chimed in, ‘Mine says “Don’t forget your change!”’ Everyone laughed as another customer approached, yelling, ‘Mine just told me to “Check engine… but it’s probably okay!”’
2. At night, when the pumps were silent and the lights dimmed, a strange humming sound would occasionally come from inside the Chevron station. A delivery driver first noticed it, but couldn’t be sure if it was just his imagination. Soon enough, other drivers started noticing the hum too. One morning, an old mechanic from down the street popped in and declared, ‘That’s no ghostly noise—those are just the spirits of gas molecules dancing around!’ From then on, whenever anyone heard the hum, they’d smile and say, ‘Looks like our little Chevron party is still going strong.’
3. A delivery driver pulled up one afternoon, frowning as he checked his phone. Suddenly, he heard a voice from inside his truck: 'Hey, pal, fill me up!' The driver looked around, but no one was there. He shrugged and filled the tank anyway—just in case it was someone’s prank. As he drove off, he saw an old man waving from behind the pump, laughing heartily. ‘Nice try,’ said the neighbor, ‘but next time, leave your window down!’
4. At dawn, when Chevron usually buzzes with traffic, an old man shuffled in, muttering under his breath. The attendant glanced curiously as he approached the counter. ‘Fill ‘er up,’” the old man grumbled, fumbling for his wallet. The attendant smiled and nodded knowingly—this was a regular. As he pumped gas, the old man suddenly leaned over and whispered, “You sure you’re putting premium in here? I saw your boss filling his truck yesterday…” The attendant laughed, shook his head, and replied, “Trust me, Grandpa, it’s premium alright.”
