About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Chevron and noticed something odd in the back of his truck—a small wooden carving of an old gas pump. He shrugged it off but couldn’t help glancing back as he filled up. Since then, every now and then, someone would spot strange items left behind: an antique oil can, a rusted sign from another era. Finally, one day, a regular customer found an old pair of overalls with ‘Chevron Mechanic’ embroidered on the pocket. When asked about them, the attendant grinned and said, 'Oh, those? They’ve been here since the last guy’s lunchbox.' Everyone laughed, realizing that Chevron was turning into a quirky time capsule.
2. A regular customer, Bob, was filling up his car one afternoon when he heard an unusual voice over the gas pump speaker: ‘Sir, would you like to try our new invisibility option today?’ Bob looked around puzzled but smiled and replied, 'No thanks, my wife already thinks I’m invisible!' The attendant just laughed and shook his head as another delivery driver pulled up, asking curiously if they had a ‘super speed’ option too.
3. While pumping gas one evening, a neighbor asked the attendant, ‘Do you ever see ghostly figures around here?’ The attendant just smiled and nodded towards the old pump, whispering, ‘They say it’s haunted.’ Soon enough, an older gentleman walked in, asking curiously if he could use the bathroom. The attendant pointed him toward the back and added with a smile, 'Just don’t look into the mirror while washing your hands—some say it shows faces from the past.' The man laughed heartily, replying, 'I’ll be careful!' Later that night, when closing up, the attendant heard someone calling for help from inside the bathroom. With a chuckle, they unlocked the door to find only an empty stall—and no sign of the friendly stranger.
4. While pumping gas one night, an employee overheard two customers whispering: 'Did you hear? The Chevron ghost only appears when the moon is full.' Curious, the worker pretended not to listen but caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye—a shadowy figure in a long coat, filling up a car. When he looked back, the customers were gone and their pumps were empty. From then on, whenever someone mentioned the Chevron ghost, everyone just smiled and said, ‘Oh, that’s just Joe, our late-night janitor.’
