The old man smiled and decided to leave the little resident undisturbed. From then on, whenever he came for his appointments, he’d quietly wave at the chirping tenant, who seemed quite content in her new home. One day, a delivery driver asked him why he always waved at an empty air conditioner. With a twinkle in his eye, the regular replied, ‘It’s not empty—there’s a feisty little songbird making herself right at home.’

3. At lunchtime, a young nurse was preparing her lunch in the staff kitchen when she heard a strange noise coming from the clinic's basement. Curious, she followed the sound and found an old delivery driver dozing off with his headphones on, drooling into a box of donuts. The poor guy must’ve fallen asleep while waiting for his sugar fix.

Just as she was leaving, she looked over her shoulder and said with a twinkle in her eye, ‘I’ll bet he doesn’t even know he’s supposed to be retired!’
