1. At Chevron, a regular noticed that every morning around sunrise, his dog would start barking uncontrollably near one particular pump. No matter how many times he filled up there or who drove in afterwards, the dog always reacted the same way. Finally, the owner decided to investigate and found out that an old alarm clock inside the station was set to go off at exactly sunrise. The sound resembled a dog’s bark, triggering the canine’s instinctive reaction. Ever since they fixed it, both the dog and other customers could fill up their tanks without any fuss.

2. At Chevron, a little girl asked her father why the gas pump always seemed to smile back at her when she filled up the car. The father smiled and explained that it was just the reflection of the sun on the pump's glass cover. A delivery driver overheard them and chimed in, 'Ah, no, sonny—those pumps are made with special happy faces!'
