About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when most gas stations are quiet, an old pickup truck pulled up to Mobil. The delivery driver stepped out, whistling a tune, and noticed something peculiar—an old man in a trench coat was standing outside, staring intently at the pump. The delivery driver shrugged and approached him. ‘Need some help?’ he asked politely. The old man nodded, pointed to his car’s tank, then whispered, ‘Just fill it up…to the top.’ As the pump hummed, both men stood there, watching the numbers rise. Finally, the driver finished and turned around. The old man had vanished into thin air, leaving behind only a crumpled receipt for ten dollars. The delivery driver laughed, shook his head, and drove off, muttering, ‘See ya next time, ghost!’
2. One morning, a delivery driver asked the attendant: ‘Why does my coffee always taste better here than anywhere else?’ The attendant just smiled and said, ‘Because it’s brewed with our secret ingredient.’ Finally curious, the delivery driver sneaked behind the counter one day. He found an old coffee pot filled with used motor oil. With a laugh, the attendant explained, 'It gives the coffee that special kick!'
3. At closing time, when the last cars had left, a voice called from inside the empty station: 'Hey, Mobil man, do you ever sleep?' The attendant smiled and replied, "No, my friend, I don't sleep—I'm always here for your gas needs!" Just then, an old pickup pulled in, driven by a regular. The driver chuckled, ‘You’re such a character, Mobil man.’ With that, they both laughed heartily as the night grew quiet again.
4. At closing time, when the last cars had left, a voice called out from inside: 'Excuse me, but did you just see that?' The attendant turned around and found a small, dusty teddy bear sitting on the counter. The attendant picked up the bear and shrugged, ‘No, I didn’t see anything.’ Then he noticed an old receipt next to it with a scribbled note: “Found this in the bathroom. Hope you don’t mind.” A few minutes later, an elderly neighbor walked in, smiling sheepishly. ‘I must’ve dropped him,’ she said. ‘Thanks for taking such good care of him!’
