About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when Circle K usually buzzed with truckers and early risers, a lone bicycle appeared in front of its doors. A delivery driver pedaled up, locked his bike next to the pumps, and disappeared inside. Inside, no one was there except an old coffee machine whirring softly. The delivery driver poured himself a cup, took a sip, and suddenly realized he had forgotten why he came here. With a shrug, he locked up the coffee and rode off into the morning mist, leaving behind only a half-empty mug.
2. At closing time, when Circle K’s neon sign flickered its last goodbye, an old man walked in, carrying a cardboard box under each arm. ‘Anyone seen my pet rabbits?’ he asked the night clerk, who just shrugged. ‘Rabbits?’ the clerk said with a yawn. ‘They must’ve hopped out the back.’ The old man nodded and headed for the exit. Just then, a delivery driver pulled up, asking if they needed any gas. ‘No thanks,’ the man replied, ‘just checking on my little friends.’ He paused, then added with a smile, ‘they always come back eventually.’
3. At midnight, when Circle K’s pumps hummed their quietest, a delivery driver muttered under his breath: ‘I swear I saw that gas pump wink at me.’ Suddenly, another voice chimed in from behind him: ‘Hey, pal, you’re talking to yourself again.’ A sleepy-looking neighbor waved from his driveway. The delivery driver shrugged and smiled, realizing he’d been talking to the neon sign above the gas pump. ‘Must be getting too many late-night runs,’ he chuckled.
4. At dusk, when Circle K’s pumps were almost silent, a delivery driver swore he saw a ghostly figure standing in line behind him. The delivery driver told his colleagues the next day, and soon everyone at the depot was talking about it. The ghostly figure turned out to be just an old neighbor who’d parked his car there for a quick clean—and had fallen asleep waiting.
