About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Valero, every morning begins with a strange ritual. A little boy, holding his father's hand, always stops midway through the parking lot and stares up at the gas pump. No matter how many times his dad tries to hurry him along, he insists on watching as if something magical happens there. One day, an old delivery driver asked curiously, ‘Son, what do you see every morning?’ The boy looked up and whispered, ‘I’m waiting for Santa Claus to fill our stocking!’ His father just shook his head and muttered, ‘Guess we’ll never run out of toys.’
2. At Valero, late one night, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar. As he filled up his truck, he kept hearing soft laughter from inside the gas station. Curious, he looked around but saw no one. Finally, he glanced into the reflection of the gas pump and saw an old man with twinkling eyes smiling back at him. The man winked and said, 'Fill’er up, sonny!' The delivery driver burst out laughing, realizing it was just an optical illusion. From then on, whenever anyone asked if Valero was haunted, the owner proudly replied, ‘Why yes, we have the best customer service in town!’
3. At Valero, an old lady would always stop and chat with the attendant. She’d ask for directions to nowhere in particular, but her smile lit up the whole station. One day, a delivery driver asked the old lady where she was heading so many times that she finally said, ‘I’m going to that new coffee shop everyone’s talking about!’ Everyone burst out laughing, including the driver, who replied, ‘Ma’am, you’re standing right next to it.’
4. At Valero, whenever it rains, customers notice something odd—an adorable puppy always appears from nowhere, bounding into the parking lot just as the first drops fall. One day, a delivery driver asked curiously, ‘Who’s feeding that little guy?’ A nearby neighbor shrugged and replied, ‘Must be some angel pup sent by the universe.’ As soon as he said that, the puppy ran over to an old lady who’d been standing in line inside, wagging his tail furiously. She smiled warmly and said, “Oh, hello again, my little rainbow.” And ever since then, Valero became known not only for its gas but also for hosting the cutest weather-dependent mascot around.
