About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. It was an unusually quiet morning in Firestone Park when a regular noticed something strange. The usually bustling post office seemed eerily empty, and as he approached the counter, he heard a soft humming coming from one of the mailboxes. Curious, he peered inside and saw a sleepy-looking delivery driver dozing off with his head resting on a pile of letters. ‘Morning!’ said the regular, startling him awake.
‘Oh no,’ stammered the driver, rubbing his eyes. ‘I must’ve fallen asleep while waiting for someone.’
The regular laughed and offered him some coffee. 'Welcome to our little town,' he grinned. 'Here, everyone knows you’re tired if you fall asleep at the post office!'
2. It was just another ordinary day at the Firestone Park Post Office. A regular was checking his mail when suddenly, over the loudspeaker, came a voice announcing: ‘Attention please! We’ve received a package addressed to Mr. Invisible Man—no address, no return.’ Everyone froze for a moment, then broke into laughter. The regular looked around sheepishly and said, 'Oh, that must be mine!' Turns out he had forgotten to write his own name on an envelope. Since then, whenever someone forgets their name, they say it’s from the Invisible Man.'
3. A regular customer asked the clerk one morning: ‘Do you ever get letters addressed to “The Mayor of Firestone Park”?’ The clerk shook her head and replied, ‘Not that I know of.’ But soon after, every week, such envelopes started arriving… One day a delivery driver joked, ‘Maybe it’s Santa writing from the North Pole!’ Soon enough, an envelope arrived with a return address reading: “Santa Claus, North Pole.” The clerk laughed and said, ‘Well, looks like our mayor has some serious competition for Christmas cards!”
4. A regular customer sighed as he approached the counter. ‘You know,’ he said, ‘I’ve been coming here for years and never once seen anyone actually mail a letter.’ The clerk smiled wryly. ‘Actually, sir, that’s because our job is to make sure no one ever sends a letter.’ A delivery driver nodded in agreement, adding with a twinkle in his eye, ‘And it seems like we’re doing just fine!’
